  • The History of Rome  (2007-2012, 179 episodes in total)
    • The first podcast I ever listened to, the iconic Mike Duncan's inaugural independent podcast tracing the history of the Roman Empire, beginning with Aeneas's arrival in Italy and ending with the exile of Romulus Augustulus, the last emperor of the Western Roman Empire.
  • Revolutions (2013-2022,340 episodes in total)
    • Mike Duncan's second foray into podcasting, exploring the great political revolutions in history from the English Revolution through the Russian Revolution.    
  • The Civil War Podcast  (more than 400 episodes and counting)
    • Independent podcasters Rich and Tracy Youngdahl's detailed narrative of the US Civil War 
  • Disney History Institute (more than 200 episodes and counting)
    • Todd James Pierce tells the history of the Walt Disney Company through serialized episodes about Walt's life, iconic Disney employees who worked with him, and monthly updates on new coming out of Disney and the parks.
  • The History of the 20th Century (more than 300 episodes and counting)
    • Independent podcaster Mark Painter's narrative world history of the 20th century. 
  • History of the 90s
    • From Curious Cast studios, Canadian podcaster Kathy Kenzora looks back at the headline stories that made the 1990s a decade that shaped modern times.
  • The Green Tunnel (nearly 100 episodes and counting)
    • From Professor Mills Kelly and George Mason University's  r2studios, the Green Tunnel explores the history and culture of the United State's most iconic long-distance hiking trail, the Appalachian Trail, and delves into topics such as iconic locations along the trail, the quirky history of trail food, the shelters and structures built along the trail, and dangers one might encounter during a hike.

    • The long time voice of the Los Angeles Angels (Victor Rojas) joins the AngelsWin.com team of Chuck Richter and Geoff Stoddart to discuss all things surrounding the the Halos and Major League Baseball.

    • Friends and independent podcasters Rob and Nate (Nate is a personal friend of mine) discuss movies, politics, religion, and more. Mostly movies though.
  • The Way I Heard It with Mike Rowe
    • Mike Rowe gives a different take on a variety of topics - from pop culture to politics, history to Hollywood, each mystery is a true-ish tale about someone you know, filled with facts you don't. Delivered in Mike's signature blend of charm, wit, and ingenuity, these stories are part of a larger mosaic - full of surprising revelations, sharp observations, and intimate, behind-the-scenes drawn from Mike's own life and career.
  • Not Another D&D Podcast (E)
    • A homebrew actual-play DND podcast featuring improv actors who initially got their starts with the online network College Humor
  • The Adventure Zone (E)
    • An actual-play podcast started by humor podcasting veterans, and brothers, who roped their dad into this one, that has featured a variety of table top game styles, including DND, Monster of the Week, and a quiet year.
  • The Critshow (E) 
    • An actual play podcast where the main story, The Other Side of the Coin, is set the a world using the Powered by the Apocalypse system (Monster of the Week).
  • I Cast Fireball
    • A family friendly DND 5e actual-play podcast of the Tyranny of Dragons campaign
  • Myths and Legends
    • Fun, bizarre, and weird stories from folklore.
  • Welcome to Night Vale
    • A podcast in the style of public radio community updates for the small desert ton of Night Wale, Nevada, featuring local weather, news, announcements from the Sherriff's secret police, mysterious lights in the sky, dark hooded figures with unknowable powers, and cultural events.
